The Theory Exam in 2026: What Has Changed?

Nowadays, the CBR no longer simply asks to name a sign. Increasingly, situation-oriented questions are asked where multiple rules apply simultaneously. For example: a priority question combined with an environmental zone.

Fewer questions, more weight

As previously announced, the exam now consists of 50 questions instead of 65. This means your margins are smaller and you are allowed even fewer mistakes. In-depth preparation is crucial.

Adapted exam options

If you suffer from performance anxiety or dyslexia, the CBR will offer even more facilities in 2026, such as a theory exam with extra time or an individually guided exam in a quiet room.
