Car Dashboard Lights: Meaning Explained

Red lights: Stop immediately!

Red always means danger or a serious defect. Think of a lit oil can light (oil pressure too low) or a temperature gauge (engine too hot). Pull your car over safely as soon as possible.

Orange/Yellow lights: Warning

An orange or yellow light is a warning that something needs to be checked, such as your tire pressure, windshield washer fluid, or the engine management light. You can continue driving, but get it checked soon.

Green and blue lights

Green means a system is switched on, such as your dipped headlights or cruise control. Blue is exclusively for your high beam. Pay close attention to turn off your high beam when there is oncoming traffic!
